The IMS supports the Horst Mühle in the design of a new water mill wheel.

The restaurant Horster Mühle in Horst generates regenerative electrical energy from the water power of the river Seeve via the former mill wheel. The mill wheel used so far has reached the end of its service life. As part of a student thesis, a new and most efficient mill wheel is being designed with the help of the latest engineering methods.

Insight for pupils into process engineering at Wetter.Wasser.Waterkant

Between 17.09. and 01.10., workshops and activities will take place at various locations in Hamburg as part of the Wetter.Wasser.Waterkant. The WWW programme is designed for schoolchildren and deals with the topics of sustainability, climate and social change. Since process engineering is also essential for the development of sustainable production processes, the Department of Process Engineering is also represented at WWW and gives pupils an insight into process engineering.
