The Research Seminar Data Science Foundations offers various formats for scientific exchange related to conceptual and theoretical aspects of data science. On the one hand, members of the Institute for Data Science Foundations report on the progress and remaining open problems related to their work. On the other hand, invited external guests present their work and thereby stimulate fruitful discussions among the participants of this seminar. Finally, the seminar also serves as a place for short lectures on selected topics of general interest within the Institute for Data Science Foundations. Such topics are, for instance, the notion of information, the concept of intrinsic motivation, and basic definitions and theorems from probability theory and geometry.
