- foundations of problem solving and system modeling, discrete event systems
- properties of processes, modeling using automata and Petri-nets
- design considerations for processes (mutex, deadlock avoidance, liveness)
- optimal scheduling for processes
- optimal decisions when planning manufacturing systems, decisions under uncertainty
- software design and software architectures for automation, PLCs

Voraussetzungen:

Please note the admission requirements (course of study) for this module.
Lecture and exercise both have to be attended.
Registration for both is done via the lecture. Registered students for the lecture will be registered for the exercise after the first lecture.
There will be two options for the exercise date per week depending on the number of registered students. Only one needs to be attended.
