Prof. An-Ping Zeng of the Institute for Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering has been awarded by the joint initiative of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh) and the Gesellschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure (GCCCD) with the “Award for Excellent Supervisor of Chinese PhD Students “ for his outstanding academic teaching performance as “Doktorvater”.
The celebration of this honor has been held in October 2017 at the German-Chinese Symposium on the topic of “Design, Synthesis and Application of New Materials” at the University of Hamburg. Prof. Zeng contributed a plenary talk on “Bioeconomy and New Bioproduction Systems for Chemicals”. The award has been presented by GDCh president Ms. Prof. Dr. Lindhorst and the GDCCCD chair Mr. Dr. Ronbian Wang in presence of the sponsor of the award Mr. Dr. Dahai Yu.
The price acclaims the excellent supervision of of PhD students and young scientists. Many of the chinese PhD students under supervision of Professor An-Ping Zeng have been awarded for their theses and successfully started into professional careers. In addition to the honoring of the excellent supervision of PhD students and young scientists by Prof. Zeng, the award reflects also the desire to further intensify the academic cooperation of China and Germany.
Three students working on their theses at our institute have been award with prizes for best posters and presenation at the "14. Hamburger Studierendentagung" at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) last week.
Yasmin Goes took home 3. Prize for her presentation on the analysis of permeation and cytotoxicity of nanoparticles using a 3D skin model.
Excellent work by Kim Kuchemüller and Fabian Freiberger also convinced the jury to award for best posters.
Kim Kuchemüller: Softwareentwicklung zur Identifikation sensitiver Modellparameter und Zufütterungsbereiche bei der Kultivierung von CHO-Zellen
Fabian Freiberger: Strömungssimulation eines Bioreaktors zur Charakterisierung von Zellkulturprozessen
