FLOWS Work Package 4: Interactive Learning Package

The objective of this project is to develop an interactive learning tool which informs upon new strategies of integrative flood management as well as trains in integrative decision making process on a professional level.Emphasising the importance of transnational cooperation in adapting the communities to the climate change the so called Interactive Learning Package is an innovative approach to disseminate flood information, targeting particularly spatial planners, water managers and the public. The access to the flood related information, tailored to users¿ interest is enabled through three different modules Tutorial, Knowledge Base and Virtual Trainer. The content, that mostly originates from FLOWS project, is structured in a logical way based on the work packages of the FLOWS project, that are Mapping and Modelling Techniques, Risk Perception and Dissemination, and Decision Support and Water Management Systems. Also, the user has the possibility to get precise and short answers to any relevant topics and results of the project by cross-referencing the content via key words or via transnational experience and best practices in flood management. Further, by following a logical and complex tree structure of questions, the user is enabled to learn about selected topics of Flood Management supported by multi media features.
