DiProPax! – Digitally supported and secured processes in the cabin for passengers and the crew

The overall objective of the project is the integration of modern near field communication (NFC) into the cabin management system. This contactless interface for secure transactions and secured communication offers users a new way of intuitive operation and physical interaction. IATA and SITA have already defined the use of this technology as the next step in digitally supported air travel at airports. The use of NFC in the aircraft cabin enables harmonized and automated Door-to-Door processes. The current trend of using personal electronic devices anywhere (cf. "Bring Your Own Device, BYOD") is supported. At the same time the comfort of the passengers and the crew and the security of digitally supported processes are increased.

Sub-project: Specification and validation of digitally supported and secured processes in the cabin

A goal in the sub-project of the institute is a model-based specification of the overall system based on formal languages such as SysML or UML. Functional requirements and business requirements are captured and analyzed on the basis of use cases. Non-functional requirements deriving from regulations of the authorities and specifically the demands for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) are considered. Another objective is a rapid prototyping approach which allows integration of already existing hardware and software components into the system model. Thus a simulation of the system is already possible during an early system design phase and will support the demonstration and testing of the intended overall project.
