The lecture is based on a systematic literature review and summarizes the main information of the internationally most influential books on the topic of scientific writing. It is intended to provide an overview of the state of the art in scientific writing. Controversial aspects are presented as such. The lecture is concerned with questions such as: -How to formulate texts "scientifically"? -Which methods can be used to improve the quality of the text and accelerate the writing process? -How are student theses, conference and journal articles structured? Which information is (not) expected in each section? -What is the process behind the publication of conference articles and journal papers? Active teaching and learning methods are used to practice the taught content during the lecture. To pass the course, the students perform the following tasks: 1x condense a scientific (review-)article to 2 pages 2x conduct peer-review for articles by other students 1x present their article via slides or a poster (this will be determined based on the number of participating students)
