Imaging and analysis

CT scan data is processed using Aviso 3D image manipulation software and Custom Matlab programs to quantitatively describe and compare skeletal geometry, also with implants in situ. A large number of CT scans are currently being used to describe the geometry of dysplastic pelvises. Where possible the position of the joint centre is related to various bony landmarks. This will allow standardised implants to be developed and implanted. Similar methods have been used to assess the cement mantle and implant positioning in titanium tibial implants.
