Interdisciplinary Bachelor-Project

Freshmen at the TUHH can try their hand at engineering right at the start of their studies. The Interdisciplinary Bachelor-Project (IDP) of the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) provides students with an opportunity to tackle complex tasks – from drawing up a concept to building a prototype – alongside their basic studies. IDP experience motivates students to deal in depth with both their subject matter and their responsibility as future engineers.

IDP subprojects undertaken in 2017 included the “Airship,” in which an airship power unit was designed and constructed, the “Algae Bioreactor,” in which a photobioreactor was designed, and the “Open Topic,” which focused on developing products for people with special needs.
