Two-year Master of Science course

The consecutive Master Program in Biomedical Engineering builds on the corresponding specialization taken in the preceding Bachelor programs in “General Engineering Science” or “Mechanical Engineering”at the TUHH. It requires in-depth knowledge of the principles of mathematics and natural science, engineering science and medical engineering imparted in the respective courses in the Bachelor programs. The central focus of this master program is put on acquiring knowledge and skills in the engineering-specific, medical and business management aspects of all areas of medical care and the health system in general. An interdisciplinary training is provided in order to cover this entire spectrum. This is reflected in the wide range of course contents offered and participating institutions.

The contents of each of the three knowledge and skill fields occupies approximately one third of the work loade. Students can select their main focus of study individually through their choice of topics for papers and seminars and of compulsory elective subjects from the extensive range on offer. The curriculum for this interdisciplinary and future-oriented Master program also includes Project Management and Research and Development.
