You consent to your personal data being processed by the controller as set out below and for the purposes specified below. The following conditions shall apply as per Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR) in conjunction with the law amending the Hamburg Data Protection Act and further provisions in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 18 May 2018.
Declaration of consent
I hereby content to my personal data being processed by the controller as set out below and for the purposes specified below. My data shall solely be processed for the following purposes: application, admission and enrolment, as well as identification.
3. Personal data
The following types of data shall be collected and processed:
Basic information and contact information, school and university data (e.g. qualifications, school and university results), data relating to personal circumstances (e.g. marital status, disabilities, care assistance). My personal data shall be shared with the following recipients: administrative staff, and if applying for a Master’s programme, with the appropriate selection committee.
4. Retention period
My personal data shall be stored for the following period: until conclusion of the application process. Data shall generally be deleted twelve months after collection at the latest, unless retention of said data is required by law.
5. My rights
I have the following rights:
a) Right to withdraw consent: I can withdraw my consent with effect for the future at any time. I may do so orally or by email. I may need to prove my identity. Upon withdrawing consent, my data shall not be processed further. It must be deleted immediately. However, this shall not affect data processing that occurred prior to the withdrawal of consent.
b) Right of access: I have a right of access to the personal data processed by the controller as per Article 15 of the EU GDPR.
6. Right to rectification
As per Article 16 of the EU GDPR, I can request inaccurate data be rectified.
a) Deletion: as per Article 17 of the EU GDPR, I have the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of my personal data, i.e. a “right to be forgotten”.
b) Restriction of processing: as per Article 18 of the EU GDPR, I have the right to obtain from the controller restriction of processing of my personal data.
c) Right to lodge a complaint: I have the right to lodge a complaint regarding the processing of my personal data with the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
