Information about the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV) and hochschulstart.de
(type/group 1 concerning applications for Bachelor’s courses at the TUHH)

Before starting the online application, please note the following: For the winter semester 2017/2018, the TUHH will use the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV) for all Bachelor’s courses for the first time. Applying involves the following steps:

  1. You need an applicant ID (BID) and a BAN authentication number (BAN)  to apply to study at the TUHH. You have to obtain these through the application portal of the “Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung” (German University Admissions Foundation, SfH). To register with the foundation, click this link and click on the button marked “Application portal” on the left-hand side of the page. It is not possible to apply to study at the TUHH without a BID and a BAN authentication number.

Here is a short explanation of how you can get your BID and BAN authentication number: Please register on hochschulstart.de. After you registered, you will receive a registration email with the BID. Please activate your account by clicking on the link in this email and completing your registration by entering your user name and password. Log in again to hochschulstart.de (with your user name and password). You will find the BAN authentication number under “My data” ---> “Personal data“. Keep a note of your BID and BAN authentication number.
  2. To apply to study at the TUHH, please use this link (this link will be activated once it is possible to apply). Have your BID and BAN authentication number ready. Please follow all required steps for a complete application. After you have applied to the TUHH, you will receive an application confirmation via the SfH portal. In some circumstances, there may be a delay.
  3. Please check the status of your application on the TUHH portal regularly. If your contact details change during the application and admission process, please amend them accordingly on the SfH portal. We will receive the details of these changes automatically.
  4. From the beginning of August, you should generally be able to see on the SfH portal whether your application (offer and allocation of a place) was successful.
