Björn Riecken started working as a member of the scientific staff at the Institute for Polymer Composites at the TUHH since August 2014. As part of his research activity he attends to the analysis, modification and influencing of the thermal and mechanical properties of polymeric matrix systems and fibre reinforced composite structures. His focus is on thermal resistance, flammability, toughness and processing properties.
In two international research projects, he is also involved in the development of manufacturing processes for composite structures in aviation.
Björn Riecken studied energy and environmental engineering at the TUHH. With the master thesis on the subject "Influence of Graphene Nanoplatelets on the mechanical properties and the fatigue behavior of fiber-reinforced composites" he concluded his studies.
