For companies in high-wage countries like Germany, a continuous increase of productivity is a key task. A high productivity ensures competitiveness and therefore employment.
The institute's research focus on productivity management is twofold. On the one hand, we develop fundamental productivity models in order to explain the diverse cause-effect relationships and to link productivity management with related areas of production management such as production planning and control. On the other hand, we conduct application-oriented research where we use modern technologies to support companies with their productivity management. Examples are the web-based productivity analysis "Check-IT" or the sensor-based analysis of motion sequences.
